Comments
When users leave comments on the site the data collected is shown in the comments form, and also the user’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from the email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if there is a connected profile.. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of the comment, the profile picture is visible to the public in the context of the comment.
Media
If image are uploaded to the website, avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. User’s to the website can download and extract location data from images on the website.
Cookies
When a comment is left on the sit, saving the name, email address and website in cookies is an option. These are for the user’s convenience so they do not have to fill in their details again when leaving another comment. These cookies last for one year.
When a user visits the login page, a temporary cookie will be set to determine if the browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when the browser is closed.
When a user logs in, there will also be several cookies setup to save login information and screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If the option “Remember Me”, is selected, the login will persist for two weeks. If the user logs out of their account, the login cookies will be removed.
Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the user has visited the other website.
These websites may collect data about the user, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor their interaction with that embedded content, including tracking their interaction with the embedded content if they have an account and are logged in to that website.

If the user request a password reset, their IP address will be included in the reset email.
How long your data is retained
When a user leaves a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is to recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For uses that register on the website, personal information they provide is stored in their user profile. All user can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If a user has an account on this site, or have left comments, they can request to receive an exported file of the personal data, including any data they have provided. They can also request that we erase any personal data held about them. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
